Finals Rules
Finals Battle Rules
Battles will be held via Pokémon Showdown.
Battles will be done via four matches.
Match 1: 1st place trainer vs. 2nd place trainer
Match 2: 3rd place trainer vs. 4th place trainer
Match 3: Loser of match 1 vs. Winner of match 2
Match 4 Final: Winner of match 1 vs. Winner of match 2
Match placements will be decided by how the trainers placed in the preliminary rounds as well as by their Pokémon's combined usage stats (This will break up the 3-way tie for first place in the preliminary rounds).Matches will be done in best of threes with a 10-minute timer between each battle for trainers to make adjustments to their teams and think up strategies to assist them in their next battle (This break time will be filled in by activities on the day). This timer may be cut short if both trainers agree that they would like to battle immediately; however, it is highly recommended that trainers use this time to their advantage.
A 10-minute timer will start after a match has concluded for the next match to begin. If a trainer does not arrive when this timer runs out, they will be subject to rule 5.
date and time will be agreed upon by all four trainers. If a trainer fails to arrive for the start of their battle, a 10-minute timer will be run, during which the organiser will try to locate the trainer. Failure to arrive after this 10-minute timer will result in an automatic loss to that trainer. (Subject to a ruling on the day.)
Pokémon showdowns National Dex ruleset will be used for the battles.
Held items are allowed.
No two Pokémon can have the same held item.
Teams will be privately checked by the organiser prior to each battle to ensure nothing the trainer has done breaks any tournament rules.
If a Mega Pokémon is selected, the Pokémon must be in its base form before Mega evolving.
Mega Pokémon are not required to mega-evolve at the start of the battle.
Selected mega Pokémon can only hold their mega stone in battle, even if mega evolution is not going to be used in the battle.
Z moves are banned.
Gigantamaxing is banned.
Dynamaxing is banned.
Drafting Rules
No Uber / banned Pokémon can be drafted.
A minimum of 8 Pokémon (6 in team + 2 in reserve) must be drafted.
A maximum of 11 Pokémon (6 in team +5 in reserve) can be drafted.
Drafted Pokémon must be in their base form unless alternate forms can be active outside of battle.
If a Pokémon who has the capability to remain in an alternate form outside of a battle is selected during the draft, the trainer can only use the Pokémon in the selected form (Pokémon who can change forms during battle, however, are fine to switch between forms).
All trainers are given 115 points to spend on drafting their Pokémon. Trainers must purchase a minimum of 8 Pokémon and cannot go over their set number of points.
Trainers cannot draft Pokémon that have already been drafted by another trainer (this includes alternate forms of a selected Pokémon). Pre-evolutions can still be selected instead.
All drafted Pokémon must not be shiny unless specified otherwise.
Drafting will be done in a snake style (the last person to pick becomes the first person to pick their next Pokémon).
1 Mega Pokémon can be selected. (Only the selected Mega Pokémon can mega evolve, and this will come at an additional cost.)
Trainers cannot have two of the same species of Pokémon on their team.
Individual drafting may be done post day one drafting event as long as it is done prior to the first Pokémon battle. (Individual drafting trainers will not be able to see what Pokémon other trainers have selected until after they have drafted their roster.)
Rules are subject to change, and additional rules may be added without prior notice.
